Fly Fishing Tactics & Strategies

 

Improve your skills and catch more fish!

 

This class will cover it all, from setting up your equipment to learning how to "read" the waters of a trout stream. Find out where fish live, how to approach them, and how to catch them. Learn the components of a trout's diet, the types of flies to use at different times of the year, and how to present flies effectively. In short - learn to be a better fisherman and reduce your chances of "coming up empty"!

 

This class includes tips and slide photos for fishing the Upper Delaware River. 

 

Instructor:  Sam Vigorita is one of the area's most successful trout anglers who has logged literally thousands of hours fishing and instructing.  He is an expert on the Upper Delaware River.

Fly Fishing Schools


Our one day schools are group classes for the beginner to early intermediate-level fly fisher.  Learn the basics in just one day!  Topics covered include:

*  Selection of fly tackle & equipment
*  Casting & line handling
*  Knot tying
*  Stream strategy & tactics

Classes conclude with a fishing session at one of our local streams.  Lunch is provided; lodging and fishing licences are not included.  Loaner rod and reel outfits, for use during school, are available upon request.  Class hours are approximately 9 am - 4 pm.

For those who desire more personal attention than

is possible in the group class, we offer private instruction for 1 - 4 persons. The subject matter

& all aspects of instruction will be tailored to your

specific requirements.

Private instruction is a useful alternative for those who are unable to attend our group classes due to scheduling issues.  It is also a better choice for students at the intermediate-level who may already be familiar with much of the introductory material covered in our schools.
